Biyografi :> Placebo

Placebo, Brian Molko (gitar-vokal), Stefan Olsdal (bas) ve Steve Hewitt (davul) adlı müzisyenlerden oluşan brit-pop grubu. Stefan Olsdal ve Brian Molko tarafından kuruldu.

Çocukken aynı okulda okumuş olan Molko ve Olsdal, yıllar sonra Londra’daki Kensington Metrosu’nda karşılaşır ve uzun uzun sohbet ederler. O günün akşamında Molko’nun evinde müzik yapmaya karar vermeleri, Placebo için atılan ilk adım olmuştur. Olsdal, Molko’nun gitar çalışına ve vokal tarzına hayran kalır ve grup kurma fikirleri akıllarına yatar. Tek eksiklerinin iyi bir baterist olduğuna karar verirler. Olsdal’ın arkadaşı olan ve perküsyon okumak için Londra’da bulunan İsviçre asıllı Robert Schultzberg’i de aralarına alarak “Ashtray Heart” adlı bir grup kurarlar.

2006′nın mart ayında 5. stüdyo albümleri Meds dinleyici beğenisine sunulur. Bu albümle birlikte uzun bir turne yapan grup, Rock’n Coke festivali kapsamında 3 Eylül 2006 tarihinde İstanbul’da bir konser daha vermiştir.
